The long term productivity and profitability of the grassfed beef industry is reliant on the industry being represented by producers with strong corporate governance and leadership skills. Cattle Council of Australia, in conjunction with Meat & Livestock Australia, are providing the opportunity for grassfed beef producers to develop their skills in corporate governance.
The successful candidates will be selected based on state demand for the course. The selection criteria will ensure that a diverse range of producers (demographic, production systems and background) are chosen ensuring all aspects of the industry are represented in the program.
What is the AICD Course?
The AICD Directors Course is a five-day comprehensive programme that covers board governance and directorship. Producers taking part in the course will gain an understanding of:
CCA and MLA wish to provide beef producers the opportunity to improve their skills and knowledge within their business to ensure a sustainable and productive cattle industry. The course is open to all grassfed cattle producers that have a desire to provide leadership within the grassfed beef industry.
Applications for 2018 are now open until midnight Wednesday 31 January 2018. The AICD Course will be held in Canberra from the 16-20 April 2018. Seven opportunities are available, one from each state and territory.
Stage 1 How to apply: Applications for the 2018 AICD Course are now open. Applicants will need to submit a written application outlining their leadership, industry strategy and involvement, knowledge of industry issues, and record of achievement. Application forms are available here.
Stage 2 Shortlisting: An initial shortlisting process will take place to select applicants for interview.
Stage 3 Selection: Applicants selected for interview will need to be available via telephone or face to face in February 2018.
Stage 4 AICD Course: The 2018 AICD Course will be conducted in Canberra from 16-20 April 2018.
