Beef 2021 – and what comes next

Written by AMPC Blogger | May 31, 2021

AMPC went to Beef 2021 with a clear goal of putting the processing sector centre stage – and that's exactly what we did.

Our stand was designed to showcase the innovation, optimism and opportunity the processing sector offers, with a range of interactive displays, and it was a huge success. It was noted by many at the event as one of, if not the, busiest stands in the pavilion and the feedback from visitors was excellent.

More than 300 people tried our virtual reality set up, the auto-brake on our ultrasafe bandsaw was activated nearly 500 times and we handed out more than 700 serves of steak and 700 satchels of samples.

On top of all that, a dozen school groups toured the stand, providing a chance for our team to talk about the opportunity for careers in processing, with a focus on safety and innovation.

Importantly, our team had the chance to present one of the Beef seminars and really demonstrate the value of the processing sector. This was a positive experience for them and gave excellent exposure for our whole sector. The seminar was called Modern Manufacturing – AMPC’s 2030 vision for red meat processing and it was both highly engaging and thought provoking. If you’d like to know more about it, take a look at what the media had to say or watch the recording, which will be on the Beef 2021 website in the coming week.

A highlight of Beef 2021 was the launch of the new Kilcoy Global Foods Innovation Hub, of which AMPC is a major sponsor under the PIP program. This incredible site will be utilised by many across the industry, including our own new product development academy. It was launched at a celebrity lunch attended by
the Minister for Agriculture David Littleproud. Take a virtual tour of the Hub here and see our favourite moments from Beef 2021 in this gallery.

Looking ahead

Beef 2021 was a fantastic experience which went a long way to reshaping perceptions about the processing sector. AMPC is already looking for the next big opportunity and has an exciting plan in the works. It’s too soon to share details but look out for an update in the next month or so.
