The board, staff and members of the Australian Meat Processor Corporation (AMPC) congratulate Leanne Heywood on winning the 2019 NSW Business Woman of the Year award in Sydney last night.
Leanne has been a Special Qualifications Director on the AMPC board since December 2017 and was elected due to her extensive leadership skill and experience.
AMPC Chief Executive Officer Mr Peter Rizzo said that the AMPC board and the team are exceptionally proud of Leanne.
“As one of our Directors, Leanne has made an invaluable contribution as AMPC has refreshed its value offering to its members and the wider industry,” Mr Rizzo said.
“The AMPC team is so proud of Leanne for all that she has achieved, and this recognition is well deserved.”
Leanne started her career as an accountant in the mining sector. Over more than 25 years Leanne’s experience broadened across all things commercial and culminated in an international marketing role with Rio Tinto. Leanne is now in a senior marketing role with a family-owned industrial engineering supplies company.
These experiences have taken Leanne all over the world, leading organisational restructuring, disposals, acquisitions, and integration and she has developed strong commercial and leadership skills across international boundaries. At a board level, Leanne’s key qualifications centre around corporate governance, risk and strategy.
As well as AMPC, Leanne sits on the Orocobre board, an ASX200 lithium miner with operations in Argentina, and is a member of the NSW Council for Women’s Economic Opportunity.
